Extension connection
Pair the Chrome extension with your ZetaMarker account using a connection code from dashboard settings.
Pairing links the Chrome extension to your ZetaMarker account so highlights sync to app.zetamarker.com.
Why connect
Without pairing you can highlight locally, but:
- Highlights do not appear in the dashboard
- Labels, trash, and cross-device sync are unavailable
- You may see Sync: Not active (click to login) in the extension
Get a connection code (dashboard)
- Sign in at /app.
- Open Account Settings.
- Find the Extension section (or onboarding card on Overview).
- Copy the pairing code or scan the QR if shown.

Enter the code (extension)
- Open the ZetaMarker extension sidebar on any page.
- Click Login or the sign-in prompt.
- Paste the code or complete the login flow.
- Wait for Sync: Synced in the sync indicator.
Verify connection
- Extension footer shows your email or account indicator
- Dashboard Overview lists recent pages from the extension
- New highlights appear on both sides within a sync cycle
Disconnect
- Extension: Logout in options or profile area
- Dashboard: revoke or regenerate pairing code in settings (invalidates old extension sessions)
Troubleshooting
