PDF viewer controls
Navigate pages, zoom, and fit PDFs in the extension viewer. Use the toolbar for page input, zoom presets, sidebar toggle, and Open in app.
When you highlight an online PDF, ZetaMarker opens it in the built-in extension viewer. The toolbar controls navigation and zoom.
Open a PDF in the viewer
- Navigate to a PDF URL in your browser (not a local
file://path — see Highlight local PDF files). - Activate ZetaMarker (
Ctrl+Shift+K/Cmd+Shift+K) or click the extension icon. - Select text to highlight — the PDF viewer loads automatically.
See Highlight PDFs in the extension for the full workflow.
Page navigation
- Previous page / Next page — move one page at a time.
- Page number field — type a page number; values clamp between 1 and the total page count.
- Display format:
[page] of [total]
Previous is disabled on page 1; next is disabled on the last page.
Zoom
- Zoom out / Zoom in — adjust scale by 0.1 per click (range 50%–400%).
- Zoom level dropdown presets:
- Automatic Zoom
- Actual Size
- Page Fit
- Page Width
- 50%, 75%, 100%, 125%, 150%, 200%, 300%, 400%
Custom percentages appear in the dropdown after you use the +/- buttons.
Other toolbar actions
- Toggle sidebar — show or hide the highlights sidebar.
- Open in app — open this PDF in the dashboard when signed in and synced.
- Options menu — login, refresh highlights, bug report, and more.
Sidebar in PDF viewer
The PDF sidebar matches the web sidebar: sort, notes, sync indicator, and Needs review after migration. See Sort and navigate highlights.
