Pages in Trash
What happens to pages and highlights while they sit in Trash, and how to restore or permanently delete them.
While a page is in Trash, it is hidden from your main library but not yet destroyed.
Where trashed pages appear
- Dashboard: Trash sidebar (
/app/trash) - Extension: Trashed pages are removed from the active list after sync; they do not open for new highlights
Page state in Trash
| Aspect | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Library list | Hidden |
| Highlights | Preserved on the page record |
| Labels | Preserved — restored with the page |
| Starred status | Preserved |
| PDF file (uploaded) | Still counts toward storage until permanent delete |
Restore a page
- Open Trash.
- Find the page row.
- Click Restore.
Toast: Page restored. The page returns to Your pages library with highlights intact.
Permanent delete
- Select one or more rows in Trash.
- Click Delete Forever.
Or use Empty Trash to clear everything.
Warning: Permanent delete cannot be undone. Extension copies are removed on the next sync.
Auto-purge after 30 days
Pages in Trash longer than 30 days are deleted automatically. You do not receive a separate warning — restore before the window ends if you need the page.
