Sort and navigate highlights
Sort highlights by time or position in the extension sidebar, click to scroll to a passage, and copy all highlights at once.
The extension sidebar lists every highlight on the current web page or PDF. Use sort and click-to-scroll to review long articles quickly.
Open the sidebar
See Open the sidebar — shortcut Ctrl+Shift+E / Cmd+Shift+E.
Sort highlights
Click the Sort highlights control (tooltip: Sort by) and choose:
| Option | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Oldest first | Earliest highlights at the top (default) |
| Newest first | Most recently created or edited at the top |
| By position | Top-to-bottom order as they appear on the page |
By position uses document layout on web pages and page coordinates in the PDF viewer.
Jump to a highlight
Click a highlight card (not its action buttons or comment field) to scroll the page to that passage:
- Web pages: smooth scroll centers the highlight in view.
- PDFs: jumps to the correct page if needed, then scrolls to the highlight.
Copy all highlights
Use Copy all beside the sort control to copy every highlight on the page with formatting — useful for pasting into notes or email.
PDF sidebar
The PDF viewer uses the same sort options and click-to-scroll behavior. After PDF migration, check Needs review for highlights that need manual placement — see Fix highlights after PDF migration.
