Page deleted from cloud
What you see in the extension when a page was deleted in the dashboard or removed from your cloud library.
If a page is deleted in the dashboard — or trashed and purged — the extension updates on the next sync.
Extension behavior
After cloud deletion syncs:
- The page disappears from the extension sidebar list
- Opening the URL may show Can't highlight here (page structure issue). or an empty state
- Local-only highlights that never synced are not recoverable from the cloud
Force sync when you see Sync: Pending changes (click Sync Now) if the list looks stale.
Accidental delete
If the page is still in Trash:
- Open Trash in the dashboard.
- Click Restore.
- Sync the extension — the page reappears with highlights.
If you used Undo within 5 seconds of deleting, the page never left the library.
Permanent delete
After Delete Forever or 30-day auto-purge:
- The page cannot be restored from ZetaMarker
- Re-highlighting the URL creates a new page record
PDF pages
Uploaded PDFs deleted from the cloud also remove the file from storage. Re-upload via Upload PDFs to the cloud if you need the PDF again.
